Home Learning

Spelling is important because it aids in reading.  It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters. Learning high frequency sight words also has been shown to help with both reading and writing.

  • Children have a set of national key words spelling list and medium frequency words list which should be practiced at home regularly.
  • As well as this children are given a set of personal spellings each week. Children should be practising a little each day to achieve the best results possible.

Mathletics is a digital maths resource to encourage children to test their maths skills. Children should be using the Mathletics program at least 20 minutes a day. A Mathletics homework task will also be set every Friday for children to complete.

This week's mathletics homework is on rounding to the nearest 10 and 100.
