The class is taught by Miss Randall and supported by Miss Gowler.

What We are Learning

Florence Nightingale
Florence Nightingale was a nurse in the Crimean war, where she and many other nurses saved the lives of many soldiers. Nightingale had a major impact on the running of hospitals and helped create a clean environment to be cared for in. She trained nurses in how to keep hosiptals a safe and clean environment to help the sick get better and was the founder of modern nursing.
Miss Randall

Class Teacher

Miss Randall has 4 years' experience in Early Years education and it is her second year teaching Year 1 at Wyton on the Hill. Miss Randall loves painting, drawing and her very cuddly cat called Chip. 

Miss Gowler

Teaching Assistant

Miss Gowler has joined Miss Randall in Year 1 after working in the Reception class last year. Miss Gowler's favourite things are sleeping and chocolate cake..

 Home Learning
To ensure that our children continue with the development of their reading skills, please encourage your son / daughter to enjoy daily reading practice for at least 20 minutes each day. 
Each week children will take home their Phonics and Spelling home learning book and their Maths home learning book. 
In these books there will be activities for your child to do based on the learning we have done that week.
Both of these home leaning books are due back in to school on a Wednesday. 
Phonics and Spelling will be sent home on a Thursday and Maths on a Friday


PE will be on a Wednesday, so please make sure they have their PE in school.

  • House Team T- Shirt
  • Plain shorts/ tracksuit bottom
  • Suitable sports trainers (plimsolls are not suitable for outdoor P.E)

*P.E kit can also depend on the weather so feel free to bring more layers as the winter season approaches.
